Further increases for Iluka Zircon Reference Price

Iluka Resources have announced they will further increase their Zircon Reference Price at the start of Q4 2017. During the year they have increased their pricing every quarter and from the 1st October 2017 they will be increasing the price by USD 130/mt to USD 1230/mt. This will mean the price has increased by 25% since the start of 2017.

The reference Price is the benchmark against which a range of Iluka zircon sand products are priced. Iluka's average price varies from this depending on the grade, contract, product mix, sales channel and region the material is supplied to.

Iluka says this increase in pricing reflects its continued effort to balance the needs of its customers and downstream industries for pricing which enables sustainable operations and a satisfactory return for its shareholders.

As a supplier of around 40% of the global output of zircon sand, Iluka has a significant influence on the market price of zircon sand. With these controlled price increases, and general tightness in supply of zircon sand, we are seeing continued upward pricing pressure for zirconium chemicals and zirconium oxides.
