Zircomet develops LLZO solid electrolyte powder in collaboration with the University of CambridgeZircomet supplies a range of zirconium based raw materials for the battery industry, this includes zirconium oxide dopants for NMC cathodes and zirconia milling media for battery powder processing. In collaboration with the University of Cambridge, Zircomet has developed a low cost and commercially scalable Lithium Lanthanum Zirconium Oxide (LLZO) for the production of solid state electrolytes (SSE) in next generation All Solid State Batteries (ASSB). The scalable process uses readily available raw materials and a low cost solid state reaction to produce a cubic phase powder exhibiting high ionic conductivity. All Solid State batteries offer a number of advantages over traditional Lithium-ion batteries, including higher energy density, improved safety, faster charging, longer lifespan and a lower carbon footprint.
