Rio Tinto brings Richards Bay Minerals back online

After 4 weeks of closure, Rio Tinto says it has started the process of resuming operations at it's Richards Bay Minerals facility. All stakeholders have been involved in securing stability within the operations and community so production can restart.

In the most recent statement, the company said a phased restart is now in progress across the operation, with RBM expected to return to full production during January 2020

RBM is one of the largest producers of zircon sand and rutile minerals in the industry.

Zircon sand is the starting raw material for the majority of zirconium chemicals, including zirconium oxychloride, zirconium basic carbonate and zirconium oxide
